Dental Checkups

Do you need a dental check-up?

It's important to ensure that dental check-ups are done frequently - anywhere between three months or up to a year. However, the less time you leave between dental check-ups - the less likely you are to have dental problems.

For your child, the first dental visit is recommended to start at 12 months and then later within 6 months of the first tooth coming out.

These visits are important for you and your family because they help to keep your teeth and gums healthy.  During the check-up, one of our dentists in Cape Town will check your overall oral health and for any trouble areas.

Dental & Orthodontic Studios and Clinics offer complete exams, consultations, and x-rays.

Dental Fillings & Cavities

X-rays are for finding problems in the mouth, such as cavities, dental injuries, and damage to the bones that support your teeth. Additionally, x-rays help identify teeth that are not growing in the right place or are too crowded to come out of the gums properly and are impacted.

Furthermore, they detect cysts, tumors, or pockets of infected abscesses in the mouth.

Our dental services include root canal operations and extractions.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment (endodontics) is a dental procedure used to treat infection at the centre of a tooth. Root canal treatment is not painful and can save a tooth that might otherwise have to be removed completely.  The inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned.

Tooth Extractions

As for extractions, this means to have a tooth or teeth removed, usually because of disease, trauma or crowding. If you need an extraction, one of our dentists will first numb the area to lessen any discomfort.

And while you may be someone who can rock a ‘passion gap’ we suggest that you avoid extractions by keeping your teeth healthy for as long as possible.  This can be achieved by visiting one of our dentist branches and booking for a consultation or a ‘scale and polish’.
